Just tried Debian lenny. had some weird bug my mouse moved all sluggish as fuck under the account i bought over from my /home partition. when i made a new account my mouse was fine, i just couldnt find what user settings screwed it up my first account.

That and my wifi card wasnt detected and i am still not too keen on compiling drivers/software from source. so im back to ubuntu. :/

I see so many people saying USE MINT across the internet, but no one ever says why.

I always switch between these three, because I can never seem to decide which is my favorite.

Because it comes with all the codecs (mp3, avi, Flash, whatnot) it shouldn't by default, has a slick interface, and a menu kinda like the Windows start button, but you can customize it. It's also based off Ubuntu, and uses the same repositories, and updates the same. Basically, Ubuntu, but more streamlined, sexier, and with codecs.

I tend to keep my linux desktop clean. My Windows desktop is a freaking mess.

Oh, and Tuatara pretty much nailed it. I see myself using gentoo later on though. Still too much of a novice at linux.
